WHy we felt the need to start

Early in my career as a bicycle mechanic, I remember a local rider that came into the small shop I was working at with a broken seat stay. Carbon bikes were in their early years and I personally hadn’t YET made the leap from my mid level ALLOY BIKE. i remember feeling almost guilty for telling them that the bike was at the end of its life. There was a guy in town that worked as a tech on small boutique aircraft that was also a regular customer and had happened to walk in around that same time. He offered to take a stab at repairing the rider’s broken seat stay as he had done a handful of composite repairs on small aircraft. I was intrigued. I had never considered how absurd it was that we as cyclists will accept that we just need to toss our carbon frame in the trash after it sustained damage. Can you imagine throwing away a whole plane after a collision with a bird? A quick google search will tell you that 1.7 million drivers per year get in some sort of fender bender. WHat if we just drove those vehicles to the landfill and replaced rather than repairing? That would be insane, wasteful, and expensive. i started this company with the vision that we no longer throw away perfectly good bicycles that are simply in need of a repair. As for that rider with the broken seat stay, the bike was built back up structurally sound and ready to ride. The seatstay was less than attractive and resembled a snake trying to digest a rat but the rider continued to ride that bike for several years before I moved away and lost contact.
